WaHo is the student volleyball association of Wageningen University. There are 16 teams at WaHo divided in 5 Gentlemen teams, 10 Ladies teams and 1 mixed team. Gents 1-4 and Ladies 1-10 participate in the official Dutch volleyball competition of the NeVoBo and play in various classes ranging from fourth class to third division. Gents 5 is a training-only team, they don’t play in the NeVoBo competition. Our mixed recreational team is a large team that plays recreationally on the Tuesdays.
Trainings take place at the Bongerd, the sports centre of the Wageningen University. Some of the competition teams train twice a week, both on Monday and Thursday evenings and some teams train only once a week on one of those days. Home matches take place on Friday evenings. During the matches many WaHo members will cheer on the other teams that are playing and a few beers are consumed as well. Away matches take place mostly on Saturdays.
Next to training and playing competition, there are also a lot of activities at WaHo! We have the Waxie, our activity committee, which organizes many different activities and tournaments for WaHo members during the year. Every year our association takes part in the SVU night tournament in Amsterdam, the Hajraa outdoor tournament in Eindhoven and the GNSK.
